Organisationerna, vars organisationskulturer som vi här presenterar exempel på, har inspirerat oss i vårt arbete och vi hoppas att de kan inspirera er också. Varannan vecka kommer vi att presentera ett nytt exempel på den här platsen - ett från någon europeisk arbetsplats och ett från någon annan av de Bästa Arbetsplatserna i en annan del av världen.

    FedEx Express follows a "Guaranteed Fair Treatment Procedure," which provides a formal procedure for handling employee complaints, problems, concerns, and allegations of employment discrimination. Through this procedure, employees can appeal their managers' decisions to top management and, in some cases, may even be able to have their complaint heard by a board consisting of their peers.

    One of FedEx Ground's core corporate values states: "We work as a team with trust and respect." The company lives up to this value by training managers to treat employees with respect. One program, called "RESPECT" (spelled out as "Resolving Employee Situations and Problems Encourages Companywide Trust"), aims to promote and preserve positive working relationships.

    At this non-profit hospital in Coral Gables, FL, employees support a Sunshine Fund that provides a safety net for all staff members who need funds to help them through emergency situations like paying overdue rent to stop an eviction, visiting a sick relative in need of some help, or other emergencies. This fund is run by Pastoral Care, and employees can donate PTO to fellow employees, as well as money.

    The Fund provides loans of up to $2500, free of interest or fees that are repaid by the employee through payroll deductions. In 2002, about $535,000 was loaned out, interest-free, to 640 employees. Baptist Health matches all contributions to the Fund.
